The islands of Indonesia

admin January 11th, 2010

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world with over 17,000 islands and 108,000 kilometers of beaches that straddle the Equator between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean.

The main destination for tourists to Indonesia is the islands of Bali, Lombok, the Gilis, Nusa lembongan, Ceningan and Penida.

Rich in culture and tradition the islands can offer visitors a huge diversity of things to see and do while on vacation. Vast volcanoes peer from above the clouds, a sea suitable for surfers yet teeming with marine life for snorkelers and divers. Rice terraces, semi tropical rain forests, temples everywhere, dance and religious festivities and the distinct flavors of the food. All add up to Indonesia and the islands being quite possibly the most unique destination in the world.
